Description

The Village of Bethune invites applications from qualified persons for the position of a permanent full-time Public Works Operator, to begin June 24, 2024, or as soon as possible thereafter. Reporting to the CAO and Public Works Foreman, the Public Works Operator will be responsible for assisting with all related works associated with transportation services, public works, water and sewer, green spaces and village owned buildings. This is a working position along with the Public Works Foreman, a permanent full time position and is intended to prepare a candidate for succession planning within the organization.
The applicant must have excellent public relations and communication skills, be self-motivated, be able to manage time effectively, and be able to work independently.
Required qualifications include a Grade 12 or GED completion, a minimum of one (1) year experience in a municipal public works, Class 1 water distribution and wastewater treatment and collection certifications (or willingness to obtain), experience in heavy equipment operation and other equipment typical of a transportation services/public works/parks and recreation department, and a valid minimum Class 5 Saskatchewan drivers license.
First Aid, equipment certifications and all other safety, public works, OH&S certifications, and management experience are assets.
Wage will be based on qualifications, certification and experience. The Village of Bethune offers a comprehensive SUMA health and MEPP benefits package. Successful candidate will be required to submit a criminal record check.
