Description

The Ministry of SaskBuilds and Procurement, Education Infrastructure Branch, has an opening for a permanent full time Facility Management Technician. This position is responsible for accurately and efficiently maintaining building space inventory as well as project-related drawings and data management.

Duties will include maintaining space information for PreK-12 education school facilities throughout the province, preparation and maintenance of drawings, and assistance to the unit along with stakeholders and ministries.

Typically, the knowledge and abilities required for this challenging and rewarding position would be obtained through a technical course such as Architectural and Building Technology as well as several years experience, or an equivalent combination of experience, skills, and knowledge. In addition, experience in the application of BOMA measuring standards is required as well as the National Buildings and National Fire Codes. Experience with Archibus as it relates to Facilities Management would be an asset. The successful candidate will also illustrate knowledge and demonstrate the proficient use of AutoCAD and office software such as Word and Excel.

You will be focused and goal-oriented in managing multiple tasks in a demanding work environment and will rely on your communication skills to deal with internal as well as external clients. You will be part of a team that is able to adapt and react quickly in providing assistance to other work units, stakeholders and ministries. Some travel may be required within the province.
