Description

Health & Safety:
    Enforces safety regulations and conducts reviews of operations to evaluate and ensure compliance with established guidelines, policies, and procedures related to safety management programs; prepares evaluative and statistical reports; and makes recommendations for improvements and solutions to problems and deficiencies.
    Writes job hazard analysis for all positions and coordinates changes or improvements to jobs.
    Coordinates Return-to-Work Programs in accordance with established guidelines, policies, and procedures; investigates workers' compensation claims, hazards, accidents, fires, and other incidents, which impact the health and safety of employees and offenders; and prepares investigative reports.
    Provides training and technical guidance to managers and employees regarding established health and safety management guidelines, policies, and procedures.
    Co-chairs the Health and Safety Committee, which includes preparing for and leading meetings, conducting safety inspections, making recommendations to Management for improvements, and following-up on safety concerns to their completion.
    Coordinates monthly safety team meetings by creating a schedule, booking speakers, and making other arrangements as required.
    Develops and coordinates safety incentive programs including monitoring accident free days and providing updates to safety teams; ordering prizes for milestone achievements and preparing for safety lunches; and compiling safety suggestions, distributing prizes, and forwarding suggestions to Management.
    Other health and safety related duties as assigned.
    High school diploma or recognized G.E.D. equivalent required.  
    Health and Safety Diploma or Certificate from a recognized post-secondary institution preferred. Minimum of five years working in Health & Safety field. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
