Job Description: As a member of the interdisciplinary team, and under the general direction of the Addictions Counsellor - Degree (Alcohol & Addictions Services Worker), the primary goal will be to restore, maintain and enhance the recovery of people seeking help for addiction and/or addiction related issues by implementing various modalities of addiction recovery programs.  Responsibilities include providing informational programming as well as individual and group counselling sessions with clients.  This position will be expected to assess individual and group needs of clients and implement plans to help clients reach their goals.
Required Qualifications

Diploma in Chemical Dependency studies, or another completed social sciences or human services discipline acceptable to the Employer
Experience
Six months clinical experience working directly in Addictions field
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

A strong working knowledge of the Developmental Model of Recovery, the Saskatchewan Model of Recovery Services, the Motivational Assessment Process and the policies and procedures established by Mental Health and Addictions Services
Ability to accurately screen assess and triage for chemical dependency related issues, and make appropriate recovery plans and referrals
Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbal
Ability to promote healthy lifestyles in urban and rural settings and with diverse populations.
Ability to provide individual, group, family and crisis management/stabilization counselling skills
Demonstrated knowledge of the Addictions specific twelve core functions
Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills
Excellent oral and written communication sk
