Job Description: Operating in a complex and dynamic healthcare environment, the Manager, Maternal Services Prince Albert, will have specific accountabilities which are aligned to that of the Director, Maternal & Children's Provincial Programs North to support the achievement of the portfolio's functions, responsibilities and accountabilities.

Maternal Services is a referral hub for the North. Providing prenatal, antenatal, labour and birth services, operative and postpartum care to low to moderate/high risk mothers and newborns. The work environment is evolving and  requires a manager that possesses innovative and creativity skills.  Responsibility for departments of labor & birth, antepartum, postpartum, OR and Maternal & Fetal Wellness, and High Risk Antenatal clinical units. The 2 bed triage area, 5 bed Labor & Birth, 4 bed Antepartum, 21 bed Postpartum Unit(s) and  1- OR provide inpatient,outpatient, labour and birth services, and operative services, that are offered 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The unit performs 1500 deliveries & 2800 outpatient assessments per year. Patients admitted to the unit include: low-moderate/high risk pregnant women of varying gestation for assessment, treatment, delivery, induction of labor or emergent or elective c-sections.
Maternal & Fetal Wellness services including a High Risk Antenatal Clinic are offered 8 hours a day, 5 days a week from Monday - Friday. Patient seen here include pregnant women who have diabetes and/or complications of pregnancy.

Contacts may include, collaborative partnerships with managers, senior leaders, physicians, and physician leaders, care providers at all levels of the organization, obstetrics organizations, Government Departments and the Ministry of Health.
