Summer Student Job Summer Student Job

Description

Working with the Climate Change team at the corporate office in Saskatoon, you will provide technical support to the development and delivery of decarbonization projects and research that supports Cameco in meeting our public climate change goals. You will adhere to project management frameworks and procedures while completing project coordination, planning, and budgeting activities. This is a 8-month temporary student term, starting September 2024 to April 2025, with possibility of an extension.

In this role, you will:
-Support Climate Change team to calculate and analyze energy efficiency and GHGs within industrial facilities.
-Learn and follow established procedures to support regulatory reporting and review.
-Complete report writing activities and conducting qualitative and quantitative research identifying best practices related to climate risk management and disclosure, energy management, data analytics, and ESG reporting.
-This position is located in Saskatoon with occasional trips to Camecos northern Saskatchewan and Ontario industrial sites.

Required:  
-Enrollment in undergraduate third or fourth year as a university student specializing in engineering, environmental sciences, natural sciences, or a related field.
-Interest in climate change, energy management, risk management, regulatory reporting, and interdisciplinary collaboration
-Strong computer skills including proficiency is Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
-The ability to meet tight deadlines, work independently with minimal supervision as well as within a team environment are essential.
-Excellent communication and organization skills.
-Successful candidate must hold a valid Drivers license

Recommended:
-Previous field experience is considered an asset
-Experience with SAP S/4HANA is an asset
-Experience PowerBI and/or other data visualization tools is considered an asset
